Today, children’s advocacy centers across the nation provide a child a friendly environment where all investigating agencies now come to the child. The child is interviewed once by a trained forensic interviewer and all agency partners work together as a team to coordinate their investigations and services for the child and their protective family members through the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center opened its doors on September 1, 2006. It was the 61st center to open in the state of Texas and serve Erath, Hood and Somervell County.
This year, several individuals and organizations are coming together for a new kind of fundraiser to help support this important organization. A brainchild of Linda McCaffrey, a resident of Glen Rose, who has worked in healthcare and childcare for her entire career, we present Did It!
Did It! Is modeled after the popular Netflix show “Nailed It!”, where amateur bakers are required to make and decorate a themed baked good to match the creation of a professional. The “Did It!” fundraising competition is open to participants of all ages from kindergarten to adults with age group categories to match skill levels. The event will be held at the Glen Rose High School Tiger Arena on April 23, 2022. Our goal is to raise $10,000 with the net proceeds going directly to the Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center.
Come be apart of our fun event and show us what you have!
