Description

Learn about the past from a kid's point of view! It’s winter in Massachusetts, and children everywhere spend their days at school or curled up at home with toys and tablets. But what did kids do during the winter in 1775? In an 18th century tavern in February, food was scarce, but chores were plentiful. Join us on a special tour of Buckman Tavern to explore the space from the perspective of an 18th century child. Learn what to cook on a kitchen hearth, play colonial games, read a story, and make fresh whipped cream or butter to take home! Recommended for ages 4-7. Admission by donation (suggested $5 per family) Please note that Lexington currently has a mask mandate in effect for those over the age of 2, and Lexington Historical Society requires proof of vaccination for those eligible (ages 5 and older) in order to enter the museum. The mission of Lexington Historical Society is to be a premier interpreter of the events of April 1775, and the faithful steward of all of the town's history through time.
