February Community Work Day at Kalaeloa Heritage Park

Join us for our community work day on Saturday, January 29, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM, at Kalaeloa Heritage Park! Activities may include watering plants, removing invasive species, cutting kiawe or other invasive plants, and mulching pathways.
Bring:
Water (we got da snacks!)Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)Thick-soled shoes (choke kiawe thorns)*Please note that we adhere to COVID-19 guidelines as set forth by the State of Hawaiʻi and the City & County of Honolulu so work days and procedures are subject to change or cancellation. For the protection of our volunteers, please wear a mask while near others outside of your household and while in the kauhale. Mahalo!
About Us: Established in 2011, the Kalaeloa Heritage and Legacy Foundation (KHLF) is a 501(c)3 community based organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Native Hawaiian cultural and historical sites of Kalaeloa via a 40-year lease to 77 acres on which it will establish and operate the Kalaeloa Heritage Park.
Our Vision: As Kalaeloa is the wahi hoʻokela, the Kalaeloa Heritage Park is the piko and wahi pana of Kalaeloa, where nā ʻoiwi mau loa – our ancestors and us – shall live forever.
Our Mission: Through partnership, planning, advocacy, and stewardship the kupaʻaina of Honouliuli accept the kuleana to preserve and protect our kupuna, historical sites, and moʻolelo of Kalaeloa. We are committed to ensuring that cultural traditions and practices of nā ʻoiwi ʻo Kalaeloa are perpetuated.
