Starting as the solo act of Rick Maguire in the late 2000s, Pile has been a collective since the release of Magic Isn't Real in 2010. To date, Pile has released seven full-length albums. In recent years the band has gained increasing popularity, becoming a prominent part of the Boston indie rock scene and frequently touring through both the US and Europe. While remaining outside of the mainstream, the band has been repeatedly recognized for captivating a particularly enthusiastic and dedicated fan base. While the band is known for its dynamic and bombastic live performances, Maguire recontextualizes the material by performing on his own, something he has continued to do throughout the project’s history. 2021 saw documentation of this aspect of Pile in Songs Known Together, Alone, a solo re-imagining of 15 songs across Pile’s catalog. In 2022, Maguire will be performing across US and Canada to support the release. KC Wren (of Thou) KC Wren (fka Treadles), a singer songwriter from New Orleans also known for performing in New Orleans-based sludge metal band Thou. Mad Mike Martinez (Solo Acoustic Set) "Mad Mike Martinez lives in Asheville NC and is known in pockets of space around the country as a songwriter, vocalist, rapper, activist, frontman, and member of the band Natural Born Leaders. In the wake of a band hiatus, Mike branched out, with a fresh, three song EP of solo material, ‘Anti-Virus’, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and long overdue social unrest. Mad Mike continues to make art, pertinent to the times, and align himself with more musical collaborators with his newest band Beekeepers, his Jam experiment band ‘Big Blue’, and his sporadic vinyl DJ experiences." - Secret Stages Sinai Vessel "Songwriter Caleb Cordes’ third LP sets aside big hooks for a different kind of immediacy, scaling back reverb and elaborate riffs in favor of a renewed appreciation for taking life as it comes." - Pitchfork
