Hear ye, hear ye! The Royal Order of Gumbo invites you to join our inaugural march in the Joe Cain Parade! The Royal Order of Gumbo was created in 2020 and is dedicated to appreciation and preservation of the consummate dish of Greater Louiwas- siana, Gumbo, in all its variations and manifestations with the understanding that the canon on gumbo is not closed. There are new discoveries to be had. This group seeks to make them and expand the vocabulary, honoring the tradition with the sharing of family recipes and engaging in good natured repartee. This year members and guests will be parading in Mobile's infamous Joe Cain Parade. Our motto, of course, is "Primum roux te facere". Laissez les bons temps rouler! Prior to Joe Cain Day 2/27/22, we will have a GROUP MEETING to discuss final details. Time and place to be determined. EVERYONE MUST REGISTER TO WALK to be part of the TROoG group! The Joe Cain Society needs our final count of participants by Thursday, February 24. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION - $24 ... Now (2/7/22) through THIS FRIDAY, Feb. 11 at 12:00 NOON! Register for the parade AND get a really cool t-shirt with our Royal Crest (pictured below) Since we have a limited supply of t-shirts only 1 per registrant is available. Anyone who complains about this will be added to the next pot of gumbo. (All processing & service fees included). We will then open REGULAR REGISTRATION for a final count of walkers (No t-shirt): Sat., Feb. 12, from 12:00 noon to Wed., Feb. 23 at 12:00 noon. There is no fee to walk, but we would appreciate your donations to cover parade expenses.
