Press release from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office: January 31, 2022 STANWOOD, Wash. – The Snohomish County Sheriff 's Office and the Stanwood Police Department announce Lieutenant Rebecca Lewis as the new Stanwood Police Chief. The appointment, beginning February 1, comes after Police Chief Rob Martin was selected as the Special Operations Lieutenant for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. Lt. Lewis has served in many roles during her career at the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, including special investigations unit, school resource officer, TAC officer at the Criminal Justice Training Commission, sergeant for the city of Stanwood, office of neighborhoods community engagement and crime prevention sergeant, civil disturbance team member, watch commander, and most recently as the Sheriff's Office North Precinct Commander. Lt. Lewis currently serves as the Honor Guard Commander and served on the Snohomish County Executive's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. "I am excited to have the opportunity to serve in the city of Stanwood as their chief of police," Lt. Lewis said. "I will work hard to deliver progressive and professional law enforcement services to our residents, visitors and business community." Lt. Lewis has worked in law enforcement for more than 18 years and received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Eastern Washington University.
