Press release from the City of Bridgeport: February 2, 2022 Steven A.R. Murphy of Murphy Medical Associates is not permitted to prescribe opioids and other controlled substances because his DEA license is suspended for at least one year. His patients will need to find new providers who will take over their prescription medication regimen. The office currently has two physician assistants, but according to CT statutes, they cannot prescribe controlled substances if their attending physician is not licensed to do so.
