Help From 'Navigating Hope' Coming To Chatham

CHATHAM, NJ — "Navigating Hope," a mobile outreach van, is driving into Chatham on Wednesday to provide social service assistance. Residents who need free and confidential help can find it at Firehouse Plaza between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Navigating Hope, which is a partnership with the county's Department of Human Services and Family Promise of Morris County — a group that helps families dealing with homelessness and housing insecurity — is funded within the county's budget each year by the county commissioners, said Brian Murray, a spokesperson for the county. On Wednesday, people who need a helping hand can apply at the van for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and utility, general (cash) and housing assistance. They can also receive referrals for transportation tax credits (EITC), nutritional help (WIC) and a range of services. Click here for all services Navigating Hope provides. The county also offers "Hope One," a mobile recovery van through the Morris County Sheriff's Office to help people who are battling addiction.
