Press release from The Alliance for Health Equity: Feb. 7, 2022 The Alliance for Health Equity is pleased to welcome Mr. Nicholas Torres, MEd as the first Chief Operating Officer (COO) beginning February 1st, 2022. Nick, having over 25 years of experience in executive management, works at the cross section between the private, government and not-for-profit sectors to align them towards collective social impact and public policy change. Nick has led and founded multiple for-profit and not-for-profit social ventures that are driven both by social impact and financial sustainability measures. Some of his launched social ventures include charter schools, an early literacy technology platform, school-based health centers, and community-based satellite college sites. He brings a wealth of experience as he provides governance and fiduciary support to The Network: Towards Unity for Health (TUFH) an official non state actor of WHO. He is also Co-Founder of Social Innovations Partners which publishes the Social Innovations Journal and incubates and launches high impact social sector models and enterprises through the Social Innovations Lab Process. He teaches Nonprofit Leadership, Social Policy, and Social Entrepreneurship at University of Pennsylvania. Nick has worked with The Alliance in the capacity as our Collective Impact Strategic Advisor and helped shape one of our strategic priorities, Integrated Services; Helping People Live Healthy and Well. As our new Chief Operations Officer, Nick will be responsible for driving significant social impact by co-designing and strategically deploying the operational infrastructure required to support The Alliance as we continue to chart our path forward in the changing landscape of philanthropy. Serving as a thought partner with the CEO he will be responsible for facilitating change and growth across our continuum of mission aligned investing, fundraising, and implementing our strategic priorities while nurturing an aligned, integrated, and accountable organizational culture.
