TUCSON, AZ — The Tucson Junior Rodeo roping champion's victory in Thursday's event took a mere 5.78 seconds, according to an Arizona Daily Star report. Colter Lee Todd, 11, was able to rope a steer's neck so fast many may have missed it. The report said the boy had just won the touch calf roping less than 15 minutes earlier with a time of 5.16 seconds. Roping skills run in the family. The boy's father, Colter Todd, retired from the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association team in 2008 as he was ranked third in the world in team roping, the report said.
