Press release from the Pima County Public Library: June 24, 2020 If you haven't yet read The New Jim Crow, The Hate U Give, or Me and White Supremacy, now is your chance! OverDrive is offering the Black Lives Matter Community Readopens a new window, where a certain selection of books are available to check out anytime. These titles are focused on #ownvoices and are intended to help us all read, listen, learn and grow as we expand their knowledge of race relations. Right now, you can read or listen to these books: The New Jim Crowopens a new window by Michelle Alexander (audiobook available through July 15) The Hate U Giveopens a new window by Angie Thomas (ebook and audiobook available through July 19) Me and White Supremacyopens a new window by Layla Saad (ebook available through July 12) There will be others in the future, and hopefully we can continue this conversation. But don't wait for these, as they're only available for a few more weeks! Of course, reading is just the beginning opens a new window.
