TUCSON, AZ — "Hamilton" fans in Tucson will have to be willing to wait for it. The hit Broadway musical's stop in the city has been pushed from Dec. 2020 to late 2021 due to the coronavirus. Now, "Hamilton" will be in town from Nov. 17 to Dec. 5, 2021, Broadway in Tucson said. Other shows, like Tony winner "Hadestown" were also pushed back, some as late as spring 2022. Shows cut short during the state shutdown will also be moved. "We're thrilled we haven't canceled anything but rather rescheduled at a time when we can all come to the theater safely," said Broadway in Tucson's executive director Mario Di Vetta, according to the Arizona Daily Star. The organization also said tickets that had already been purchased will be honored at the new dates and the same seats will be retained. Refunds will be issued for anyone who can no longer attend the shows. Here's the updated schedule: "Jersey Boys," Jan. 22-24, 2021 "My Fair Lady," Feb. 2-7, 2021 "Tootsie," May 4-8, 2021 "Pretty Woman," May 25-30, 2021 "The Band's Visit," June 1-6, 2021 "Come From Away," June 22-27, 2021 "Hamilton," Nov. 17-Dec. 5, 2021 "Hadestown," April 12-17, 2022 "There will be an abundance of Broadway theatrical shows in Tucson," said Di Vetta. The news comes as the entertainment industry remains shut down across the country. Broadway closed in March as the pandemic began to take hold of New York City and it will remain dark until at least Jan. 3, 2021, the Broadway League previously announced.
