UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — After omicron surged through the city in late December and early January, case rates are falling across the five boroughs — including on the Upper West Side.
As of Monday, the New York City COVID rate stands at 4.52 percent — a more than 80 percent drop from where the number stood on Jan. 17.
These same trends are seen on the Upper West Side.
Here is the COVID data for the Upper West Side from Jan. 29 through Feb. 4.

The 3.16 average rate on the UWS is a steep fall from where the neighborhood was around a month ago, when the three ZIP codes saw its rate shoot from 2 percent to just under 7 percent, to over 20 percent in the span of two weeks at the end of December.
The city's highest case rate is currently in Mott Haven, Bronx, where the seven-day percent positivity is just over 15 percent.
On the other end of the spectrum, the NYC ZIP code with the lowest positivity rate is in Central Harlem at 1.30 percent.
