TUCSON, AZ — Tucson students can resume their education, as the Tucson Unified School District is distributing loaner laptops starting Monday and handing out paper lessons beginning Tuesday. Paper lessons for grades K-12 are available for all, but are not necessary for those with a computer and internet connectivity. All work can be done online. For those who want to pick up paper lessons, here's what you need to know: Go to your closest Tucson Unified School District K-8 schoolGo at the following times, based on the student's last name:A to G: 9 to 10 a.m.H to M: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.N to Z: noon to 1 p.m.This is a drive-thru pick up, so stay in your car or maintain at least six feet of distance from others if walking to practice social distancingParents will get instructions from teachers, and teacher will also contact studentsIf you don't have a car or have respiratory symptoms, call 520-225-4800 and the school will make other arrangementsLoaner laptops will be made available Monday afternoon. The laptops are for seniors Instructions for students in grades 9 to 11 to pick up laptops will be posted Monday at the school website. Here's what you need to know about laptop pick up: Laptops must be picked up by a parent or guardian, or a student listed in Synergy SIS as legal self-guardianGo to the student's high school to pick up a laptopTucson High School:A to L: Monday, noon to 4 p.m.M to Z: Tuesday, noon to 4 p.m.All other high schools: MondayA to F: noon to 1 p.m.G to M: 1 to 2 p.m.N to Z: 2 to 3 p.m.Those who can't make their assigned time can pick laptops up from 3 to 4 p.m.Bring a photo ID and a pen to sign the formThis is a drive-thru pick up, so stay in your carIf you do not have a car or if you have any respiratory symptoms, call 520-225-4800 and the school will make other arrangementsSchool officials ask people not to come if their senior already has a computer and internet connectivity, as laptops are limited. There's a limit of two laptops per household.
