Description

TUCSON, AZ — Parents and guardians in Tucson can now pick up meals for their children without the kids having to be present, according to a social media post by the Tucson Unified School District. Meals are still being handed out during school closures amid the spread of the new coronavirus. Previously, children receiving a meal needed to be present. Parents and guardians now just need one of the following to pick up a meal for a child: A student ID card, report card, or other school issued documentation with a child's name such as enrollment, class schedule, IEP etcShow a video call home to show their children at homeFor children not enrolled in school: documentation with a child's name and date of birth such as a medical documentIf none of the above is able to be provided, staff will ask for the parent/guardian's name, child's name and school (or date of birth if not enrolled in school) which will be logged by staffStaff will not be collecting any of the documents. They just need to be shown. See the Tucson Unified School District Facebook.
