LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Gwinnett County high-school students will soon be asked if they want to join in-person graduation ceremonies scheduled for July.
Gwinnett seniors already have graduated once in May, through virtual ceremonies held online because of pandemic restrictions.
But graduating in person was part of the plan, too — if conditions allow it.
Gwinnett County's school board was told Thursday that in-person graduation ceremonies are still anticipated for July, according to The Gwinnett Daily Post. Most will take place at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth.
Steve Flynt, associate superintendent for school improvement, told the board that he would "plan accordingly" after finding out whether students "would like to participate or not."
The schedule for in-person graduations was announced last month. It's posted here.
