Part-time Heavy Equipment Operator Reunity Resources’ Community Farm is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a flourishing organic farm. The pay rate ranges from $15-18/hr DOE. This is a year round, part time position. Hours will vary seasonally from as little as 8-20/week in winter and as many as 30/week in spring/summer. April through June 24 to 30 hours per week including Saturdays July through October up 20 to 24 hours per week including Saturdays November through March up to 20 hours per week Responsibilities The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the front loader and screener under the guidance of the Operations Manager. S/he/they performs technical work operating and maintaining equipment to produce compost and composted mulch from food waste, manure and mulch. Machine Operator is also responsible for the mixing and movement of other materials and products, including but not limited to mulch blends, compost blends, coconut coir blends, soil blends, etc. This position will also be customer-facing performing customer service and sales up to 30% of the time. This staff member performs a variety of operational, maintenance and process control duties designed to produce compost and other materials for sale. Work involves operating loaders, blowers, mechanical screeners, and other equipment. Operator, under supervision of Operations Manager, controls the combination of heat, moisture, and oxygen to ensure that the compost is safe and optimized for horticultural use.
