Construction Tech 1 technician is responsible for providing technical assistance in construction activities undertaken by the employer; guiding the construction crew in day-to-day activities; coordinating with vendors, civil foreman, and construction crew; handling live issues at the construction site; mentoring and training new staff on use of construction equipment. A construction technician typically reports to a construction site supervisor. Duties and responsibilities include the following: ● Can do attitude with good work ethics. ● Basic carpentry skills a must. ● Own your own tools. ● Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints. ● Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs. and navigate construction job site terrain. ● Operate heavy machinery, including construction vehicles. ● Identify utility lines. ● Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site. ● Provide labor support as needed for specialty crew. ● Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles. ● General understanding for wiring building for electricity. ● General understanding of installing pipes and other plumbing equipment. ● Measuring and cutting lumber. ● Must be knowledgeable in building codes and can read blueprints. Candidate must meet the following requirements: ● Must have a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle ● Must be willing to travel ● Must have your own tools ● Previous experience in construction required. (Minimum 3-4 years)
