TUCSON, AZ — A 10-year-old boy was fatally shot in his home in what appeared to be a murder-suicide, police said. According to a news release, officers from the Tucson Police Department were sent to a home on E. Palmetto Pointe Trail shortly after midnight on Saturday. A 911 caller said that he was conducting a welfare check on an adult man and a young boy at the home after the man failed to respond to texts or calls. When officers arrived, no one answered at the home. With the help of a Tucson SWAT team, a search warrant was served on the home and officers entered. "Once they entered the residence, officers located an adult male deceased with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," Sgt. Richard Gradillas, a spokesperson for the department, said in a statement. "A further search of the home officers located a deceased juvenile male with oblivious signs of gunshot trauma. No one else was located inside the residence." An initial investigation determined that the man and boy lived together, along with an adult woman who was not home at the time of the shootings. The man has been identified as Phillip Emmanuel Foye and the 10-year-old as Sebastian Phillip Foye. Investigators believe that Phillip shot Sebastian before turning the gun on himself. It is unclear if Phillip was Sebastian's father. No other details were made available. The investigation is ongoing.
