Today starts Have a Heart for Chained Dogs Week! ❤️ As of January 18, 2022, Texas law prohibits the use of chains as a form of restraint for outdoor dogs! Dogs are naturally social animals who thrive on interaction with humans and other animal companions. A dog kept on a chain in the same spot, day after day, month after month (even year after year in some cases), suffers immense psychological damage. An otherwise friendly, docile dog -- if continuously chained -- may become neurotic, depressed, fearful and/or aggressive. Dogs deserve better, and the #SafeOutdoorDogs Act will impact the lives of dogs in critical situations across the state.
