Description
This position works in the Germantown School district, and will be mostly located at Germantown High School. Looking for a 2nd shift supervisor to be responsible for directing activities of workers engaged in maintaining facilities and equipment in a school environment. Type of Supervision: Night Supervisors act as a lead for the Night Custodial Staff, Floor Persons and other non-exempt staff. Night Supervisors report employee-related issues to the Assistant Area Manager or Area Manager for resolution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. General Cleaning Cleans and polishes fixtures, surfaces, and trim Cleans classrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas. Sweeps and scrubs floor. Dusts furniture, ledges, door trim, equipment, windows, door panels, and sills. Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to disposal area. 2. Task Management Inspects facilities and equipment to determine need and extent of service and equipment required. Assists the Area Manager in planning the type and number of service personnel needed to complete tasks Assigns tasks to employees and directs projects to verify adherence to specifications. Based on direction from Area Manager. Assists employees with needs and/or problems or refers them to the Assistant Area Manager or Area Manager. Requests necessary supplies and maintenance needed on equipment. 3. General Labor Transports cleaning supplies between areas to be cleaned. Sets up table and chairs or rearranges tables and chairs when requested by customer. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, and/or snow shovels and spreads snow melting chemicals as directed by the customer or manager. 4. Other Inspects electrical equipment and PPE prior to each use to ensure safe operation. Notifies managers of any concerns. Consults Safety Data Sheet (SDS) book prior to use of each chemical and follows recommended use. Wears PPE required for safe completion of job tasks. Follows and abides by all policies and procedures as established from time to time. Is regularly prompt and present for assigned shift. Monitors building safety and security by locking doors after completing cleaning duties and restores all materials/equipment used to their proper storing place. Drive vehicles (with proper license/certification) required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial truckes or automated cleaning equipment. Knowledge and Skills Required: Ability to pull/push 30 lbs with outstretched arms Ability to lift/carry/transport between 5-50 lbs a distance of no less than 50 feet unassisted Ability to lead other employees to a desired result Requirements: Valid Drivers License Speaks Spanish
