Looking for a solid bass player and drummer to fill out a trio. I am a self-taught guitar player/singer with influences that range from King Crimson, to Alice in Chains, to Joni Mitchell, to Rush, to you name it. Most of the stuff I write would be called alternative or even progressive rock. So, I need people that can easily play odd time signatures and understand strange chords and arrangements. Would be great if the bass player could sing harmonies as well.
I had a band in LA several years ago, but my wife and I moved here in 2012 to raise our kids. Looking to get back into something I've missed for quite a while.
I want to continue writing original material and I have about 15 complete songs - with another 20 or more in the works. But, I am also open to playing covers to maybe secure some gigs in the meantime. I would do most of the writing, but would also be open to some collaboration as well if we have good chemistry. The music I write can sometimes be simple, but it can sometimes be complex - so if you are a beginner, please do not respond to this ad. I am looking for serious musicians with serious skills. And, as many of the other ads say, please no drama or addictions.
If you're interested in creating/playing some great music, please contact me. The only gear I have is guitar gear, so unless you have a place to play, we would have to rehearse at a studio somewhere. That may eventually change, but that's the case for now.
