We are looking for an experienced Electrician preferably 3 plus years experience, but not required. Your job will involve performing common electrical installations, testing, troubleshooting, rough-in and trim out work. Our work is 90% - 95% Residential, so experience in residential is preferred. However, you Must have experience in residential and/or commercial. Industrial experience alone is not sufficient. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. Safety is NUMBER 1. That is your safety, your co workers safety and our clients safety. Quality is NUMBER 2. We want an individual who will pay attention to the details, take pride in their work and to never take short cuts to complete a job more quickly. Your Responsibilities • To ask questions if you are not certain on how to perform a task and or if what you are doing is correct or safe. This is very important and is your responsibility. • To properly install all electrical components to the electrical code to ensure safety and proper function. • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems • Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.) • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc. • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged wire or other components. • To maintain a courteous demeanor/relationship with all clients and coworkers. Respecting clients and coworkers is a must and violation of this can result in immediate termination. • To not discuss any extra work, cost of extra work or any financials with the clients. You are to direct the client to call the office to discuss costs and/or extra work. Skills • Proven experience as an electrician • Experience in residential and/or commercial. • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints. • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability • Excellent physical conditions, able to climb ladders, go into attics and under homes safely. • Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician. This is not required, but will be considered for additional compensation. Required: Must have your own vehicle and driver’s license. Must have your own hand tools. Power tools are not required for hire, but having these will increase your wages and potential jobs you can be sent to alone.
