SCARSDALE, NY — Six New York towns are among the 50 richest in the nation, according to a new Bloomberg report. That includes one ranked the second-richest in the country.
Scarsdale in Westchester County came in at No. 2 for the second straight year, according to Bloomberg, boasting a state-high average household income of $452,041.
Also making the top 50 richest towns in New York, and their average household income, were:
13. Bronxville, Westchester County, $330,421
15. Larchmont, Westchester County, $324,835
26. Greenville, Greene County, $297,128
27. Rye, Westchester County, $297,011
38. East Hills, Nassau County, $273,306
The richest town in America is Atherton, California, where households earn $525,324 a year. It was the only place with an average household income of more than a half-million since Bloomberg started compiling the list in 2017.
The richest towns in America are Atherton, California, followed by Scarsdale, New York; Hillsborough, California; Cherry Hills Village, Colorado; Los Altos Hills, California; and Short Hills, New Jersey.
Bloomberg evaluated household data, adjusted for inflation, for U.S. locations with a minimum of 2,000 households. Nearly 6,300 communities met the criteria, including about 75 percent of all U.S. households.
