FORSYTH COUNTY, GA – There are a total of 286 confirmed coronavirus cases in Forsyth County as of Wednesday at noon, according to the Georgia Department of Health. There have been a total of nine coronavirus-related deaths in the county as of Wednesday, with 40 hospitalizations. According to the data, there are approximately 113 cases per every 100,000 people in the county. The Georgia Department of Community Health has also released a report showing the number of COVID-19 cases in nursing homes and long-term care facilities in the county. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the new coronavirus. As of Wednesday at noon, there have been 25,274 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, 4,948 hospitalized and 1,052 deaths in the state, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health's daily report. Since Tuesday at noon, that is an increase of 723 new cases, 170 hospitalization and 32 deaths. Most of the top 10 counties with the highest number of coronavirus cases and deaths are in the metro Atlanta area, with Fulton County still first for cases with 2,763 cases and 108 deaths. Dougherty County, though, which has the fifth-highest number of cases at 1,498 has the highest death count at 120. According to the Johns Hopkins University of Medicine, there have been more than 1,015,000 confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States, with 58,000 deaths. More than 115,000 have recovered in the U.S. Worldwide, there are more than 3 million cases and 218,000 deaths.
