LONG ISLAND, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island with freezing rain potentially impacting the Monday morning commute. Rain will move in Monday morning and with temperatures below the freezing mark until mid-morning, there's a chance of slippery conditions on untreated surfaces, the weather service says. The full forecast: Sunday Night- A slight chance of freezing rain or freezing drizzle after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Monday- A chance of rain or freezing rain before 10am, then a chance of drizzle between 10am and 1pm, then rain likely after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Northeast wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Monday Night- Rain likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 33. North wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Tuesday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Tuesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 25. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Wednesday-Sunny, with a high near 40. Wednesday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Thursday-Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Thursday Night-Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Friday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
