Press release from the City of Gig Harbor: February 4, 2022 Starting February 28, 2022, the project will resume and work is anticipated to continue through mid-summer. Long traffic delays are expected. Use alternate routes when possible. The project has been on a winter suspension since the end of October 2021. The winter suspension was planned to avoid performing construction during the wet winter months. IMPACTS TO THE PUBLIC - HARBORVIEW DRIVE SOUTHBOUND CLOSURE Harborview Drive will be closed in the southbound direction from North Harborview Drive to Stinson Avenue. A detour for southbound Harborview Drive traffic will be in place for the duration of the project. The contractor will have flaggers present to safely direct traffic and pedestrians through the work zone.    Please expect long traffic delays, slower speeds, and lane shifts during this time. Use alternate routes when possible. Click link to detour map here.   There will be a pedestrian detour route set up through the work zone. This route may change from time to time to facilitate different phases of the work.
