Here are the top three stories today in Buffalo: When the eight-foot-tall bronze bust at Martin Luther King Jr. Park was first unveiled in 1983, many felt the statue didn't properly represent the park's namesake. Now Samuel Herbert, chairman of the Coalition to Save MLK Park, is resuming his efforts to bring down the bust. Herbert's efforts have been previously stalled twice — first by the Buffalo Common Council and then the pandemic — but he's back on the path to bringing about change and is asking for Buffalo's help. (Spectrum News)A wrong-way collision on Route 33 resulted in the death of one driver and injuries to three others. The driver was reportedly traveling eastbound in the westbound lane when he collided head-on with another vehicle near the Suffolk Street exit. While police were diverting traffic on the scene, another car struck a patrol vehicle with two officers inside. Both incidents are still under investigation.
