Found: Stray Abandoned Lost Ferrell Cat Needs a Home This male cat has been hanging out in our neighborhood lately. Not sure if he's a stray, abandoned, lost, etc. No collar. No signs or lost cat postings around our neighborhood. He's all black, and has a surprisingly muscular build for a cat... more like a bear cub. Really neat. We and our also cat-friendly neighbors have been providing basic care... food, water, and clean, dry, heated shelters on our porches, so he doesn't freeze and starve to death out there in the middle of winter. With there being so much snow, he doesn't have much of anywhere to roam and go. He's skittish and timid, until he gets to know and trust you. Once he does, he'll purr a lot, and rub against your feet and legs. (Between constantly moving around and wanting to nose and lick the camera, makes it hard to get good pictures of him!) And he'll follow you around and hang out wherever you are... on the porch, in the garage, etc. He likes to try to get indoors. You do have to be calm, gentle, cautious and use common sense around him. If startled, or not handled gently, he may hiss or scratch. He'll let you pet him, but again, caution must be taken, being gentle and avoiding sudden or aggressive movements that may startle or threaten him, particularly when pulling back or walking away. He has some sniffling and sneezing, and the past couple days, has been walking very lightly on one of his front paws. There's also signs of a couple old battle scars, perhaps with other cats or animals. We and our neighbors cannot keep him, due to having other pets. He needs a permanent home with someone that can provide the proper care for him. Because of his current nature, we would not recommend him in a house with kids or other pets. If other cats approach him, he will hiss and stand his ground. Located on the border of Akron and Tallmadge. Near Tallmadge Circle and Goodyear Hts. If interested in taking him in and giving him a good home, please e-mail or text.
