Description
This online adult seminar, hosted by the Newberry Library in Chicago, explores how contemporary Western films and television series portray the modern-day West. The Western genre is typically linked with the Old West era but Western TV series and films set in the present-day, such as Longmire, Yellowstone, and Wind River, examine issues such as Indigenous rights, land use and care of the environment thru a contemporary lens.
