Classic soul / Motown / R&B cover band in search of a new singer. We are a ten piece band of experienced musicians. We do Otis Redding, Etta James, Eddie Floyd, Clarence Carter, Smokey Robinson, etc., with occasional other songs thrown in for fun or when requested by a client. We play weddings and private events that pay $300-400 each, as well as some public shows for fun and as paid rehearsals. Our summers are pretty fully booked with weddings. You can expect to make $4k or more throughout wedding season. You would be singing lead and backing vocals along with two other singers. We generally perform for 3-4 hours so it's a lot of material. You'd be singing lead on a third or so of the songs and backing vocals on the rest. Our current song list is around 100 songs though at most events we usually play 50-60 songs. Time commitment is around two rehearsals per month in Fremont (usually on Tuesday evenings). Of course you'll need to familiarize yourself with all the material.
