Introduction The Blaster / Painter (BP) position is a key role at ABP. You are the “tip of the spear” when it comes to quality work & safety on each and every project. Your work ethic, friendly demeanor, attention to detail and professionalism go a long way in making ABP a memorable company in the eyes of our clients. The Blaster Painter represents the future leadership of ABP’s Operations Department. Blaster Painters who show a willingness to learn new things and effectively put them into practice have an excellent opportunity to pursue a greater role with ABP. Production ● Efficiently work on a team, doing your part to ensure that all ABP’s standard operating procedures are followed. ● Assist Operations Foreman in timely arrival and completion of all scheduled work each day. ● Assist co-workers in appropriate load-out of work vehicle(s) each day. ● Do your part to help your team meet on-time and quality targets each day ● Ensure that all of your personal work meets or exceeds ABP’s quality standards. ● Follow all standard safety & operating procedures at all times. ● Conduct yourself in a professional and pleasant manner at all times. Operations ● Do your part to make sure all equipment is loaded up and accounted for before leaving the shop or a jobsite. ● Fulfill assignments given to you by the Operations Foreman and Crew Leader such as the Vehicle Loadout Checklist and the Vehicle Appearance Checklist. ● Look for opportunities to assist your Foreman by working independently and taking initiative. ● Work to improve your skills in all areas of service every day ● Progress through the CCPR 5-Star Certification Program and work toward becoming a Foreman Key Skills And Qualities The Blaster Painter must display a number of key skills and qualities to be effective. This is a fast paced, sometimes hectic work assignment. Most importantly, the BP must be able to assist the Foreman and/or team members in all job duties in an exceptional way at all times, regardless of circumstances. An effective Blaster Painter will be able to smoothly carry out all ABP’s standard operating procedures at all times while completing tasks in an efficient and productive manner. Below are some key qualities that the ABP looks for in Blaster Painter candidates: ● Ability to work with a team and enhance the team’s ability to produce. ● Timeliness and reliability ● Hustle, initiative ● Positive, friendly demeanor, even when faced with negativity or hostility ● Professional appearance and personal hygiene ● A desire to learn new things and make rapid advancement, not only with ABP, but in life. ● Humility and teachability ● A love for quality of work Qualifications Dependable transportation and phone Must be able to work with dust mask and/or paint respirator Able to work all shifts and extended hours Operational knowledge of, and the ability to trouble-shoot, all blasting and painting tools and equipment Physical Requirements: Regularly required to walk; frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl at various heights and in confined spaces; occasionally required to sit; required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to feel, grip, or handle; regularly required to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; required use of vision to see up close, distance, and peripherally, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus in low light conditions Compensation ABP compensates Blaster Painter’s in a unique way that rewards high performance. Each technician will start with a base hourly rate. These rates will range from $14-$17/hour for Painter Blasters, and $18-$25/hour for Foreman / Crew Leaders. This rate will be subject to typical overtime rules as set by Michigan Labor laws. On top of the base hourly rate, technicians will have the opportunity to earn Production Bonuses. These bonuses are tiered, and kick in when technicians achieve Reported Job Completion Targets for the week.
