MADISON, AL — The AHSAA football playoffs are underway this week, and Vestavia looks to make a run in the 7A bracket, but the Rebels will have to travel to Madison and beat James Clemens in order to advance.
Vestavia Hills takes a 7-3 record into the first round of the playoffs, but the Rebels have played toe-to-toe with some of the best teams in the state this season, so a win over the 8-2 Jets is not an impossible task.
Coming off a 53-0 win over Huffman, Vestavia faces a James Clemens team that has a better record, but also dropped a game against 6A Clay-Chalkville earlier this season. That said, The Jets are averaging more than 40 points per game this season.
The Rebels would face the winner of the Hoover v. Sparkman game if they advance to the second round.
