Description

Join us as we worship with traditional hymns in a jazz style! On the First Saturday of each month at 5:00 PM, Grace offers a very special service.  The liturgy is abbreviated and the music format is jazz.  Our objective is to offer a worship service that will attract new people who may work on Sundays, or do not appreciate a traditional liturgy. This is a “Big Easy” one folks… Tell your friends! Consistent with New Orleans COVID guidelines, we recommend masks for everyone, however, fully vaccinated people are welcomed to attend worship without masks with the understanding that those who are not masked will need to maintain social distancing in seating and in socializing before/after church. We are a congregation of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Grace is open to people from all walks of life, in every stage of life. We aim to serve God’s Kingdom as a united body of Christ, offer discipleship opportunities, and plan programs intended to reach and involve God’s Church. Grace will celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2022.  Since 1897 Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church has been Calling, Equipping, and Sending God’s people  to thrive as believers in the New Orleans area. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the immense disaster and suffering it brought to the lives of the people of New Orleans, we are a growing ministry determined to make its mark in the long-term rebuilding of not only our homes and churches, but to also support and develop the entities that minister to areas of injustice that exist in our great city. We are a church that has been richly blessed and desires to give back that which we have received and been transformed by. With pride and determination, we do not want the grace we have received to be in vain.
