5K Walkathon Drug Awareness DEA Red Ribbon Patch Program

Description

This event is advocating against drugs and illicit narcotics and to bring awareness to the dangers of drugs. It is DEA sponsered and Boyscout hosted 5K walklathon around Yorba Reginal Park in Anaheim. As participants walk the pre-designated trail, there will be stations manned by patrols of BSA Troop 278. Each station will have a briefing and information sessions about a common and dangerous narcotic. They will discuss about why it is dangerous and how people acquire such illegal paraphernalia and more. As the participants walk, they will eventullay complete a 5K trail. At each station, the participants of the walkathon will have an opportunity to make a personal pledge against drugs and obtain DEA Red Ribbon Patch.
