Description

Wine Tasting and Tuscan Culinary Tour 2022 We are excited to host the Tenuta Casanova Tuscan Wine Tasting and Culinary Tour Dinner with our friends Silvano and Rita at the Carolina Exotic Car Club! Carli and I had the pleasure to meet Silvano and Rita at their winery in Tuscany during our last holiday to Italy. We absolutely loved the wine, balsamic, truffles and the true hospitality from them, and are thrilled that they have restarted their U.S. tour! We are so fortunate that they have agreed to a stop in Raleigh this March. This event will be held from 6pm-9pm at CECC. Please note there is Limited Space Available. Reserve your seats at this link. As this is a Tuscan Wine Dinner hosted in collaboration with Carolina Exotic Car Club we are providing a $25 discount (per ticket) if you bring our your Italian Exotic to the evening experience. Just use ItalianExotic as the discount code, and include the make/model of the Italian Exotic you will be bringing! About the Vineyard: Tenuta Casanova is an organic farm located in the heart of the Chianti hills, between Poggibonsi and Castellina in Chianti. The farm – totaling 3 hectares of Vineyard and 5 of olive trees – dates back to the 12th century, when it used to be a Vatican property until the second half of the 1800’s, when the tenant of the farm was the historical figure Abbot Gaetano Sprugnoli. At this time, the property was completely abandoned and left in disrepair until Silvano found it 30 years ago. While the buildings were in total ruin and needed a complete renovation, the soil was an incredible treasure: no pollution or contamination, leaving it in perfect condition for a truly authentic organic farm. Surprisingly, a few Merlot vines actually survived this time, and Silvano was able to graft these ancient clones and use them to produce their top quality Supertuscan wines. So when you try this Supertuscan, you try what a farmer would produce more than 150 years ago, a piece of history About the Wine (and other products): These wines are only available in a very limited quantity, (only 10,000 bottles per year, out of a potential 30,000), and are produced without any added chemical sulphites. Tenuta Casanova produces red wines, Chianti Classico and Super Tuscan IGT, a Tuscan Champagne (white and rosé) called Facile Innamorarsi “Easy to Fall in Love”, and Grouse Eye, a unique dessert wine made with Sangiovese grapes harvested in September, then pressed at Christmas and aged for years in small barrels. The Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced on property was awarded Gold Medal in Japan in 2014 for its high amount of Omega3 (0.7%). The Balsamic Vinegar is produced without any coloring or preservatives, with two different types of aging, 8 years and 30 years, plus a special selection limited edition with barrels dating 1969. All of these products will be available for order onsite and are exclusively for visitors and direct contacts. None are sold or available to restaurants, distributors, supermarkets or shops of any kind. About the Event: Silvano and Rita host very exclusive private events, where they replicate the authentic Tuscan experience you would get from a visit to their winery. All of the products are shipped from Italy and food prepared with fresh ingredients, including their Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar and White Truffles, and of course the wines! Expect a beautiful Tuscan dinner, where each course is paired with their amazing wines. Carli and I look forward to meeting you and hosting this Tuscan Dinner and Wine Tasting.
