Bartow Supervisor Kirk Named To Georgia Elections Task Force

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Bartow County Elections Supervisor Joseph Kirk was named Wednesday by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to a task force to improve Georgia elections. The Georgia Bipartisan Task Force for Safe, Secure and Accessible Elections will meet weekly between now and year's end to "address challenges in election administration," according to a statement from Raffensperger. Kirk is one of more than a dozen voting experts named so far to the task force. He's also one of only four county elections supervisors, and the only one from outside metro Atlanta. "Our teams are keeping Georgia voters the focal points of all of our elections," Raffensperger said in the statement. "Improving the integrity of our elections and increasing voter confidence in their outcomes is vital." Other confirmed participants in the task force are: Lynn Westmoreland, former U.S. rep.Andrew Young, former United Nations ambassador and Atlanta mayorRev.
