ROME, GA — A Cartersville woman — already wanted for eluding police in a motorcycle chase earlier in July — was arrested Saturday after marijuana was found in her car. Glenda Bennett Nichols, 53, was arrested by Cave Spring police at the intersection of Cedartown and Love streets. She gave officers a false name at the time of arrest, according to The Rome News-Tribune. Nichols was already wanted on a warrant from early July when she fled from police on a motorcycle, running a red light at the intersection of Walker Mountain Road and Ga. 1 South, nearly causing a wreck. Not only was the motorcycle's license flagged as suspended, Nichols didn't have a license to drive it. Nichols was charged with felony fleeing police officers, misdemeanor driving a vehicle on suspended registration, driving while license suspended or revoked, marijuana possession, giving false name to law enforcement officer, failure to obey traffic control devices, violation of license restrictions and no insurance for motorcycles. As of Sunday, she was in jail with no bond.
