CARTERSVILLE, GA — An 84-year-old man who authorities said was intimidating people outside his home with a revolver was arrested for aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
Brumby William Massey, who lives on Shadow Lane near Cartersville, told a Bartow County Sheriff's deputy on Friday that he carried a gun but didn't threaten anyone with it.
Witnesses told the deputy a different story, according to WBHF Community Radio.
Three complainants — including one who was Massey's stepchild — said Massey walked up to them in his yard, said he would "take back the neighborhood" and that he would kill them. The three said Massey was waving a revolver, and he pointed it at each of them.
A witness told the Bartow deputy that she didn't hear the threat but did see Massey point his gun at the trio.
Massey was arrested for three counts of aggravated assault and one count of felony terroristic threats and acts. He was released Saturday from the Bartow County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
