Description

DUNEDIN, FL — More than 125 residents were on hand for the unveiling of the Rosa Parks Bench at Faith United Church of Christ, 1650 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin, Saturday. The bench, located in the butterfly garden at the church, is intended to be a place where people can sit, pray, read, talk and contemplate the contributions of civil rights hero Rosa Parks. On Dec. 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Parks refused to leave a row of seats reserved for white passengers and sit in the "colored" section of the bus.
