FALMOUTH, MA — A woman died in a car crash in Falmouth on Friday, according to police. Police said the single-car crash happened around 7:40 p.m. on Ransom Road. The woman, who was the driver, was taken to Falmouth Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Police did not identify the woman. A man, who was also in the car, did not sustain any injuries, police said. The vehicle involved was a Lexus SUV. Falmouth and Massachusetts State Police are working to determine the cause of the crash. The road was closed while police investigated. The woman was the second fatality in Massachusetts on a day that saw more than 200 crashes amid icy conditions.
