We are a small, independent warehouse conveniently located in Northwest Denver, Sunnyside, at the I-70 and I-25 interchange, blocks from the B & G light rail lines. We are growing and adding to our team. We offer cold and dry storage for some of Colorado’s most successful small to medium sized food & beverage companies. We are currently seeking a Salaried Warehouse Manager (generally 40-45 hours/week) who can partner with and report directly to our Operations Manager to meet our customers’ needs while also maintaining a safe and efficient working environment for our employees and customers. The ideal candidate for this position has 2+ years of warehouse experience and material-handling equipment experience and is comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (no freezer). Previous management experience preferred. Competitive annual salary offered based on experience. Job Description: -Our managers help direct the flow in and out of the warehouse, tracking customer needs and helping employees respond most efficiently. -Compare identifying information and counts of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. -Work in WMS system to complete daily tasks. WMS not currently in use but will be implemented. -Maintain the facility in a constant state of “operational excellence,” namely ensuring a safe, clean, well-organized working environment. -Train and supervise warehouse team on use of equipment including handheld devices, WMS system, Forklifts, and other material handling equipment as necessary to perform their duties. -Maintain and track equipment maintenance data and report problems or concerns brought up by employees. -Perform cycle counts as needed and investigate inventory discrepancies and report results to management team. -Maintain inventory of warehouse supplies and manage the cost and ordering of these supplies. -Maintain a sense of passion and urgency for getting the job done right. -Daily morning meetings with Operations Manager. -Monthly meetings with management team. -Perform other related duties as assigned. Daily responsibilities: -Provide backup and support to Warehouse Manager -Communicate with customers and transportation companies to schedule loads in and out of the warehouse -Support warehouse staff to help them maximize their use of time and space -Complete paperwork and data entry, help with billing, and check for errors -Help maintain a clean, efficient, and organized warehouse -Be a working asset to the warehouse staff. Assist with workload as needed. Because of our small size of less than 10 employees, our staff is relied on to perform many different types of tasks--from warehouse work to paperwork to cleaning to maintenance, but we also seek to learn what each employee is especially good at doing. We will look to enhance your strengths as a manager while also asking you to support each employee in the same way. Job Requirements: Managerial Skills - Respectfully work with and consider needs of all players; Identify areas where company policies and/or individual staff members can show improvement Communication Skills - Demonstrate direct, professional written and oral communication Computer Skills – Excel, Outlook, and Warehouse Management System Organizational Skills – Able to multitask and to change focus as needed; accuracy and attention to detail a must Warehouse Skills - Experience with material-handling equipment including forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, mechanical pallet jacks, dock plates, and other warehouse equipment is a must. Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment (37-47° F). Physical Skills - Some occasional heavy lifting required. You will never be asked to lift something you aren’t comfortable with. Attitude - A positive, helpful attitude and a sense of humor is appreciated! Willingness to jump in and help at any level to get the job done. Flexibility - Because we respond to our customers’ needs, often on short notice, our employees are asked to quickly adapt to changes. Scheduling - Monday - Friday 6am-3pm (with some flexibility). Saturday hours (8am – Noon) are on rotation with others but will be required roughly every 2-3 weeks.
