VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The Vestavia Hills Police Department issued a statement Tuesday recognizing the hard work of the Shelby County 911 staff, in observance of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week this week.
"Please join the Vestavia Hills Police Department as we recognize the hardworking dispatchers and public safety telecommunicators of Shelby County 911," the VHPD statement said. "hese professional men and women serve as a vital link between your community and all of our public safety operations. Acting as a critical lifeline to other first responders, these unsung everyday heroes are always there to answer the call."
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week spans from April 12-18, set aside every year to recognize dispatchers and public safety telecommunicators for their service as a vital link between your community and fire, medical and law enforcement agencies.
