Fatal Crash Under Investigation In Vestavia

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — A fatal one-vehicle accident in Vestavia Hills Thursday is under investigation by police. The incident occurred in the 100 Block of Montgomery Highway just after 9:30 p.m. Vestavia police said the victim was driving an SUV southbound on Montgomery Highway when it left the roadway and struck a concrete pillar. The vehicle then caught fire. Police said the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
