Description
RYE, NY — Volunteers from Rye and around southern Westchester county are needed to help create a huge textile artwork. By the time it's done, May 2020, many hands in many Westchester communities will have contributed.
Between now and May 2020, textile artist Amanda Browder will design and fabricate "Metropolis Sunrise," a colorful, quilt-like sculpture, with help from around the county.
Once complete, the sculpture will be draped from the top of ArtsWestchester's historic 9-story building in downtown White Plains.
Join a public sewing day to help create this work of art. No sewing experience is needed. There's a task for everyone! There are several chances in Rye, at the Rye Arts Center and the Westchester Children's Museum.
