What a great time to learn some new facts and celebrate the culture of a diverse people from the African Diaspora, which simply means Black communities all over the world. Out of Africa came sailors & soldiers, cowboys and equestrians, and educators and authors - just a few awesome people who deserve recognition and will be highlighted in the upcoming Library events. For more information on the history of Black History Month go to: https://asalh.org/black-history-themes/ Our library has a wonderful collection of books written and illustrated for children to see themselves on the page, a slight quote from our upcoming feature Author Talk event – Phelicia Lang, "Tay Goes to the Zoo" on February 12, 2022 at 11am.  Ms. Lang includes great reading tips in each of her books for early readers. Caitlin Gooch of Saddle Up and Read will share stories about historical Black equestrians and her own life as an equestrian on February 23, 2022 at 4:00pm.
