Meet Basil- a young female gerbil (only about 3 months old) rescued from possibly going to a bad home or improper housing when a pet store closed. She is now up for adoption! She is curious about humans and while she is a little skittish, she has enough curiosity and interest in us that she will sit on your hand and check you out. With time and bonding she will be a lovely companion. I am searching for an adopter who already has a female gerbil or is willing to acquire one before Basil is passed over, and has thoroughly educated themselves on introducing gerbils to each other. Basil has a few housing requirements, in that if she is to be housed with 1 other female gerbil her cage must be a minimum of 40 gallons. If she is to be housed with 2 other female gerbils her cage must be at least 50 gallons. A proper wheel (at least 10 inches), enough bedding (at least 12 inches), and a quality diet must also be provided. I will respond to any requests for further information on Basil within 1-3 days of emailing me. This sweet girl is ready for her new home!
