Description

Dear Neighbors, The picture above shows a Monday morning -- April 6, 2020 -- around 10:00 a.m. Our beloved Birmingham, Michigan, looks almost like a ghost town. Empty streets. Businesses closed. But please don't feel discouraged! Look for signs of hope. Sweet messages in a window on South Eton Street. A love letter from Thrifty Florist. A dazzling Easter egg tree in someone's front yard. Old Glory waving proudly. Someday this play structure will be bursting with children's energy. Meanwhile, Elie's and other restaurants deserve your patronage. You can enjoy these colorful reminders of spring from Anthropologie. Appreciate this message of caring from Crimson Rose. Suhm-Thing's display might make you think about your family. A few people ventured outside today. Their safe distancing will help to defeat the monster coronavirus. I finally realized that empty streets might be a good thing! They show that Michiganders are taking the warnings seriously. Stay safe, stay healthy, everyone. #BIRMINGHAMSTRONG Ed MorykwasRiver of Time Photography
