My sons dad is worthless despite claiming he could’ve played in the NBA he was so “good.” *Eyeroll. My seven year old is in a team and he has an interest to learn, but he doesn’t know the game. I don’t even know how the game is played myself so I’m of no help, but I’m at least willing to take him to basketball practice/games instead of sleeping in! Can you sense my frustration? He needs to be taught the object of the game and the rules and have someone run the ball with him to teach him how to play against an opponent. Things as they are, he literally runs away from the ball and is afraid to get a pass because he doesn’t know what to do (run/dribble/shoot). He’s a sweet, quiet and a bit shy. I’m paying $20 an hour. Please live very close by so it’s worth your money to work with him. I’d like him to learn at the Markham Elementary School nearby. Please google it so you know where this could/would take place. I need someone patient and kind. Imagine trying to teach this game to someone that has NO IDEA. He needs a lot of “good jobs” at his attempts and “nice tries” when he does something, because he beats himself up when he messes up. He’s 7! He’s left handed by the way, so he’ll need to be shown how to go left with his shots. I’d like the game to be an hour at a time and a few times a week if possible. Preferably a dad. Please email if interested.
