We are seeking bright and dynamic individuals to join our Texas team in Dallas and Austin. Hiring Maintenance Technicians & Maintenance Supervisors who will be responsible for the general maintenance repairs, apartment make-readies, and preventive maintenance for the apartment community. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for residential maintenance (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.) general repairs, apartment make-ready, painting, electrical, HVAC, and other related activities in apartment units. Communicating with vendors to assist in completing work orders and/or repairs to the apartments and community. Duties will include but are not limited, to the following: interior and exterior painting; cleaning apartments and common areas; checking and replacing exterior lighting; removing litter, debris, and pet droppings from the grounds; removing abandoned furniture, trash, and boxes; detailing property including cleaning and raking shrub areas and keeping sidewalks and walking areas clean of loose grass and brush; repairing and replacing window screens; assisting with various physical tasks as directed e.g., digging holes, tearing down fences; assisting with "make-ready" duties; cleaning and maintaining storage areas; distributing resident communications; performing work area clean-up and safety-related duties, and more. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Maintains buildings and related structures applying maintenance techniques and using tools to alter, repair and/or install walls, stairs, floors, ceilings, windows, doors, roofs, gutters, locks, HVAC, appliances, etc. • Completing interior apartment make-ready and exterior areas throughout the building needing repair or alterations • Must have knowledge in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC • Repairing and installing appliances • Knowledge in carpentry • Assist in cleaning the community by picking up trash, washing floors, cleaning hallway carpets and decks, windows, etc. • Must have good customer service skills • HVAC certified preferred PRE-REQUISITES: EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent. Trade school, technical or vocational certification in carpentry or construction a plus. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year in apartment maintenance SKILLS: • Knowledge of residential maintenance and renovation, practices, procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment • Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment • Ability to communicate with supervisors and residents to ensure assigned tasks are completed and assistance is provided, as necessary • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and make basic decisions • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions • Must have a clean driver’s license PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Requires ability to perform tasks on all areas and aspects of residential maintenance • Requires ability to walk, stand, stoop, climb ladders • Requires ability to work with tools, equipment, lumber, and other construction materials Must be able to lift heavy items! Must be reliable and have transportation! Must have general maintenance skills!
